Alaska Really is the Adventure of a Lifetime

Some people say that Alaska is the last unexplored wilderness in America. Those people would be mostly right. While Alaska hasn\\'t been completely explored at ground level, it has been almost entirely explored and mapped by air.

Bush pilots have been flying Alaska\\'s skies almost since the Wright Brother\\'s flew at Kitty Hawk, over 100 years ago. In that time, they\\'ve located, and landed on nearly every lake and navigable waterway in the state.

The Ultimate Alaska Vacation

Alaska is the ultimate destination for any outdoorsman, with opportunities for all skill levels from novice first timers to experienced backwoodsmen.

Explore Alaska by Air

Some of these landings were trickier than others, but all bring piolts, and their passengers, into a vast and beautiful wilderness. Travelers who want to truly explore Alaska\\'s back country, can charter flights with any number of private pilots and even a few regional airways.

Charter a Sightseeing Flight of Denali

A few years ago I had the opportunity to take a sightseeing flight around Denali in the fall. It\\'s a flight I will truly remember for the rest of my life.

A Camping Trip Like No Other

Packing for a winter trip to Alaska means being prepared, and over prepared, for extreme weather.
Sleeping bags rated to -40, tents that will withstand not only cold but wind, lanterns with batteries rated for Alaskan weather, stoves with backup ignition systems.
Of course, an easier way to explore is to book a cabin. Cabins offer the advantage of extra insulation from the cold and a whole lot more protection from the native wildlife, particlarly bears, but also moose, who, believe it or not, kill almost as many people in any given year as black bears do in a decade.
